PPPPPiggy

Happy Monday! I am back to work. It’s not where I want to be but if the boy and I want to eat it’s where I need to be. It was so hard to get up this morning and get in gear again.

The rest of my week last week was pretty much uneventful.  I did manage to work out in the yard a little. At least I got inside and outside of the fence mowed. That was a job in itself.  I also managed to clean my closet up some too. That needed to be done for a long time. So my vacation wasn’t a total waste of time doing nothing. I’m happy to have accomplished a few things.

I went to Hobby Lobby on Friday. I shouldn’t have because I always spend way more than I should. This time wasn’t any different.  The Oh Baby! Crochet book was one of the items that came home with me. It has quite a few patterns that I’d like to attempt. One of them is already completed. Of course it’s not totally like the pattern but almost. The colors, ears and snout are different. And I think where the head attaches to the blanket is not how they attached it but I kind of like how I did it because it makes it pretty secure to the body. The blanket itself is not that big because it’s a security blanket, it’s only 10 rounds plus the 2 round edge. I think it’s pretty cute myself.

I couldn’t resist this pic of my boy. He never even woke up when I took his pic. This is his couch and his blanky. This blanket came from his daddy’s. He had it before his daddy died. It’s a crocheted blanket that looks like it’s done in tunisian stitch. Sometimes he will lay on it like this and other times he’ll lay at the green end on the couch and scrunch up the blanky for a pillow. He’s hanging in there for now. His eating has dwindled down again. He sleeps a lot too. He did drink a lot of water while I was home last week. But he won’t drink any while I am at work. I just don’t understand.

I hated leaving him this morning. Oh, I did manage to move his dog house out front underneath the carport thingy. He wasn’t using it out back anymore so I moved it. The funny thing is that when I came home from Hobby Lobby on Friday he was laying underneath it, instead of in it.  I purposely brought it out front so he could get in it and not lay in the dirt. I even constructed a front stoop out of 3 cinder blocks covered with an old truck mat from my old Ford Ranger. I guess he’d rather lay under the palace instead of in it or on the porch. Go figure.

Well I best get to it here. It’s going to be one of those days for me and probably a pretty full week. Here’s hoping your week is a good one! Cya soon!

  3. Yay, Leo pictures! :) I love seeing him, he is so cute. I am glad he is hanging in there...bless his heart...He's a sweetheart. :)

I just thought of something, and you are probably miles ahead of me...you do print off the 40% coupon that Hobby Lobby has every week...right? You sign up on line and they'll send you an e-mail with the link to get the coupon. They have one every week....not that I go there every week...I mean (looking around to make sure no one is listening) who me?

Blessings and hugs to you and my pal Leo, too. :)

  5. Your blanket turned out so cute! It looks just like the one in the book to me. Leo is so sweet sleeping there on his blanket. I bet it was hard to leave him this morning. I hate leaving my dogs at home when I go anywhere.

    1. Thanks Pammy Sue! It was really hard leaving Leo. I so wish he wouldn't potty in the house so he could be comfortable all day while I'm at work.

  6. I know why Leo sleeps / lays under his doghouse . . the area under the doghouse is cooler than the inside of the house.

My Joy, our dog growing up, always laid in one spot of my neighbors Lily of the Valley bed . . right where her bedroom bumped out of the house. When I laid there once, I understood . . the ground was SO COOL . . and the rest of the yard was hard and warm.

    Put the blanket under the house and it might work to keep him cleaner . . or he might just roll it up and push it out of his way . LOLOL . . . they are such creatures of habit :0}

    1. Well, the thing is that I pulled the dog house underneath a carport like thing that keeps the sun off of it. I don't know why he won't go in the dog house. He did before when it was out back. He's losing his little mind. :o(

  7. How old is Leo? Maybe he is just feeling like not doing anything..hopefully he will get more motivated. I haven't been to Hobby Lobby in a long time. Seems like they have started carrying less and less of what I "need" like I need to be there in the first place. Looking foward to seeing the pics of your finished projects from your new book. Blessings..

  9. I found your blog again through BellaCrochet! I think you have the coolest blog name EVER because it would work for me too, except my "Mr. Lick Lick" is a 100-lb Rottweiler! Going to try to subscribe/follow through Google.

  10. Thank you! Leo is like his departed mama (Misty) in that he likes to lick, hence the name. He's starting to go downhill, he's 14. 98 in dog years. He's pretty blind and his hearing is really bad but he's still hanging in there. My sister has a rottweiler, her 2nd I think, plus a min pin. Same colors, two different sizes dogs. lol.

  11. That blanket is so cute. You do such a good job crocheting. And Leo is adorable. Still hanging in there I see. Poor kid!

About weaving, you tear the material into strips about one inch wide, then weave it through the warp (string on the loom) which is what gives it the different colors.

  14. There are places offering crocheting and knitting lessons here in Northeast Minneapolis, and I'm going to take some this fall. Such a great way to keep the hands busy while, say, watching TV. :-)

Guess what my friends will be getting for Christmas?!

  15. Pearl - in my opinion you would might be happier with crochet. Nothing against knitting but with crochet it is easier and qucker to make something, like hats. 98% of my Christmas is handmade. Less stress and money spent. And most people love and cherish handmade articles. I sit many hours in front of my tv crocheting. It's a great stress reliever also. Once you get the hang of it there are oodles of free patterns out there. If I can help just holler! :o)
