Make The World Go Away

If you are my age or older you will probably have heard this song before. Don't you feel like that sometimes? I know I do. It seems like the older I get the more I feel like that. And last week I actually heard on tv that the older people get, the more secluded they like to get. So I guess I'm in the normal range, as far as that goes anways.

I have been so busy lately. Work has been murderous. Home has been hard. Life seems to be excelling past warp speed. I have been floundering in my crochet. I counted 11 projects started and wouldn't you know it, I started another one last night. The others are all 'pay attention' projects. This one is the kind where you have one stitch and you plug along each row until it's done. Can you guess what it is? :o)

Last week I started a project that I actually finished. Johnny wasn't able to leave his room (if he was able to leave) without a mask on. Who wants to wear regular old masks anyways?? So I made him three, almost 4. The last one had my gears smoking trying to figure out how to pull it off.  And it's still sitting on my table.

I thought I had a pic of all three but it turns out I only took pics of two of them. The first one is a combo of #3 thread in two blues and two greens. The second one I started to make piratey...with a blue beard, and that didn't turn out so well. But the mouth with the tongue came out not bad. He loved it!  And he also loved the flowers I made him. Remember the flowers from the last post?  The mask that has my gears smoking is one that I wanted to make with a hole, and a flap over the hole, so that he could be able to eat without taking the mask off...all he would have to do is flip the flap up. I've got the square with the hole in the middle but I'm having a hard time with the flap.

Remember a couple of posts back I told you I was working on a crochet bowl from a pattern out of one of my crochet mags? WELL....it seems that I somehow again, not sure if it's my fault or the pattern's fault, I am off by 3 sets of chain stitches, with only 2 or 3 rounds to go to finish. So I put it down and started another one and am counting (which I thought I did with the first one) to see what the deal is. The first one I did in #3 thread in Sage, this one I'm doing in #10 thread in Off White and Cobalt Blue.  I did go back two rows and couldn't figure out where the screw up was. I get so disgusted when something isn't coming out right. I'll put it down in a heartbeat and pick it up later when I have more patience. Sigh.........

Other than that life is moving right along. The other day I planted a hosta. When I dug up the spot I was putting it in I found this beautiful green grub. I had never seen a colored grub, only the large fat white ones. Check this guy out. When we were done with the photo session I tossed him over the fence. I don't know if he's a good grub or a bad grub. He sure is a pretty color though huh?

And lastly, yesterday I went to Food Lion for lunch. I needed a couple of things at home and figured I would go at lunch so I wouldn't have to stop on the way home. I found this soda. It is sooooo good. I'm not normally a soda drinker, I used to be addicted to Pepsi but when I moved here I stopped drinking soda because it packs the pounds on you. I know I need to stay out of Food Lion now that I know it's there. :o)
I've missed ya'll. I so wish I didn't have to work for a living so I could hang out and read blogs, but reading blogs don't pay the bills. It's so hard catching up on everybody but I do the best I can.

I hope life for you has been good and continues on a path of wonderful. Cya soon!

But you didn't have any info on Leo . . . how's he making it in this heat?

  4. Hey Kat, I totally understand about trying to catch up on blogs, I feel the same way. I think it's easier to catch up in the winter months, but I don't miss winter that's for sure! Those masks are hilarious. It's a good thing Johnny has you to help lift his spirits. Any news about Shane? Try e-mailing that magazine or looking up on the internet for pattern changes..sometimes they have corrections to patterns on their website. Hang in there...I think we're about the same age. It's a hard one.
