Kiddies Hats

Happy Friday Eve!

I had these done a couple of days ago but was so busy re-writing that pattern that I figured I'd post them today if I had a chance. They're nothing special. Although I didn't realize that I had picked up the 'smell good' peaches and creme cotton. I kept smelling something that smelled good and wondered where it was coming from. Then I thought maybe my bag that they were in smelled good and got on them. Nope, it was the cotton itself. I picked up two colors that did smell good and one that had no smell. Oh well.

They are nothing fancy but the little girls that they are for should like them. They are made in their favorite colors. That's all that matters. The pink on the purple hat is different than the pink on the white and pink hat but they look the same.

Anyways, I now am working on 'resemblances' of Fashionista Farrah & Lovely Lucy. Kylie's birthday is coming up quick. Why do grandbabies have to grow up?? She will soon be 8. Seems like yesterday she was born.

Anyways.....Irene is coming up the coast. We are supposed to have some winds and maybe some rains from her as she passes by. I can do without the wind but if it just happened to rain that would be wonderful. :o)  Ya'll be safe. I hope those of us to the north of me batten down the hatches and take a little vacation away until she's gone. Cya soon!

  1. Stay safe--hope you get some rain!

    The hats are cute!

Speaking of smells--someone picked up some yarn for me, but it really stinks. Any thoughts on how to get rid of the awful old yarn smell?

  2. Kat, they are adorable.

To Mindy above: If it's not too bad you can put the yarn in a plastic bag and set a cup of dry coffee grounds in with them and let them sit for a few days. Sometimes that will take it out. I had some to absolutely could NOT get the smell out of and had to actually throw it away. Good luck!

  4. We're watching the Weather Channel, pretty much, non-stop. Supposed to hit the coast sometime Saturday. We're just west of 95 and will most likely get a little wind and a lot of rain as we did when Isabel hit us in 2003.
